Fashion is a device I use as a philosophy to understand who we are as people. My research as a fashion historian is based on references I see in my surroundings – like a forensic fashion detective, I enjoy tracking down how fashions were born, made, grew and ultimately recycled. My recent work has focused heavily on self-imaging and I have a growing interest in found photography.

My research isn't limited to just clothing, cultural phenomenon is my driving inspiration when starting a project.

The development of fashion theory is something I consider myself a part of and hope to drive it forward in the future.

i write as myself, as i would converse
i write sometimes undigestably,
with mistake,
uncomfortably,
without audience

we must reject the artifice of collective tone
